Ben Justice is DML…

And DML is Ben Justice… And Ben Justice was at my house in the summer… That means…

DML was at my house in the summer!

I’ve just had one of those surreal moments, and I will explain it here to the best of my abilities:

DML is ‘Da Mighty Lizzimba’, a user on Games Radar forums, and host of the Games Guru World Cup which I took part in on Press Start. Today, DML messaged me on MSN asking if I knew about comic con, when I asked why he told me that his film was to be shown there, as such I enquired as to what his film was about. ‘DuPain‘ was the reply, the bread thing that I watched earlier this year which my sister had got me to watch, ‘watch this, it’s good, one of my friends helped make it’ she said.

Naturally, at this stage you can put two and two together, I knew DML lived in Cowplain due to his saying ‘ah, some local boys’ to me and Lavonkey who entered the Guru world cup with Cowplain as our hometown, and so I asked ‘do you know Claire Bowden?’ To which DML responded he did. And so I told him I was Claire Bowden’s brother…

Suddenly, the size of the world was resounded as Ben realised that he had seen me playing cards during the summer when attending my sisters summer BBQ, and that I had also seen him play Street Fighter on the Snes. Badly.

This was quite an astounding find and something I’m still mulling over in my head… Needless to say, next time I see him I shall say hi.

Wii: SSX Blur

Well, it seems that EA continue to take the Wii by the horns and continue to surprise everyone with announcement after announcement.

After the surprising Wii Sims announcement (admit it, it looks awesome) here come EA with a brand new SSX game for the Wii.

Hopefully this game will be more in the design of SSX Tricky, rather than the more recent incarnations which feel the need to chamion the idea that bigger is better. Questions are still up the air as to how it will control, how hard tricks will be, how complex courses will be (the video only seems to have two alternate routes) but hey, it looks nice and cartoony and SSX games are normally pretty good. And naturally, it is early days yet.

Oh, and I wonder if we will see this sight again…

Japanese Wii’s are go!

So, Japan are getting their first tastes of Wii bliss, and so the simple question is:

How will the Wii sales compare to those of the DS?

Will the Wii be a sell out after sell out success, or is the console market still largely seperated from that of the handheld? I think this person leans towards the prior:

While I calmly wait for the next 7 days to pass so that I too can look that happy, I await sales figures from Nintendo. However, after no official announcement of the US sales, I predict that Nintendo will wait for the holiday season to pass so that they can reveal how well the Wii sold over a long period of time.
